About me
I am a husband and a father of two boys, August (6) and Max (3). My family is the engine that motivates me to create a better world, one filled with love, empathy and compassion for each other.
In my work as a design leader, I strive to create a safe work environment for my team where they can be themselves and have the freedom to express their thoughts and feelings. The relationship I have with my team is one based on trust and commitment to solving our customer’s problems.
Working with me means you are empowered to work autonomously and have ownership over the experiences that you and your partners create. With ownership comes accountability and I expect my team to be accountable for the successes, failures, and learnings of the work.
When it comes to the design process, I believe in the importance of sharing work as early and often as possible, whether that includes napkin sketches, low fidelity wireframes, and production demos, etc.. This collaborative and open mindset is what I find yields the best results when working in an agile environment. This approach also allows us to get user feedback faster and be able to iterate and launch quicker.
Patterns, frameworks and systems are at the core of our jobs as designers. These are the tools that enable speed to innovation and scale. I’m constantly demonstrating to my team the value of systematic thinking as a mechanism to accelerate their work.
